T-Kash cash withdrawals for individual customers are made through agents. Find out the costs for withdrawing cash from your T-Kash wallet below.
From T-Kash Agents
To withdraw, you generate a T-Kash code from your phone (*334# or the T-Kash app), which stays valid for 10 minutes. Take the code to any T-Kash agent along with your original identification document — no agent number is needed. The agent confirms the code and releases the cash. The minimum withdrawal is KSh 50.
The following table outlines the charges for withdrawing cash:
| Amount Withdrawn (KSh) | Charge (KSh) |
|---|---|
| 50 – 100 | 11 |
| 101 – 2,500 | 27 |
| 2,501 – 3,500 | 50 |
| 3,501 – 5,000 | 67 |
| 5,001 – 7,500 | 83 |
| 7,501 – 10,000 | 108 |
| 10,001 – 15,000 | 160 |
| 15,001 – 20,000 | 180 |
| 20,001 – 35,000 | 190 |
| 35,001 – 50,000 | 273 |
| 50,001 – 250,000 | 303 |
This tariff matches Telkom's own printed T-Kash Tariff Guide, effective September 1, 2023.
What This Means for You
- Flat fee up to KSh 2,500. Every withdrawal between KSh 101 and KSh 2,500 costs a flat KSh 27 — withdrawing KSh 2,500 costs the same as withdrawing KSh 200. If you need an amount in that range, there's no reason to withdraw less than the band maximum.
- Fees jump sharply above KSh 2,500. Crossing from KSh 2,500 to KSh 2,501 nearly doubles the fee, from KSh 27 to KSh 50. Try to keep withdrawal amounts just at or under a band boundary rather than just over it.
- Withdrawals cost more than sending. For the same amount, withdrawing cash is always pricier than sending it to someone else's wallet — cash leaving the agent network carries float management and security costs that Telkom recovers through the withdrawal fee.
- Consolidate where you can. Making one larger withdrawal is typically cheaper overall than several smaller ones, especially once each withdrawal would otherwise sit near the top of a flat-fee band.
