T-Kash uses one tariff for sending money to any registered mobile money user in Kenya — it doesn't matter whether the recipient is on T-Kash, Airtel Money, or M-Pesa. The following table details the charges for sending money:
| Amount Sent (KSh) | Charge (KSh) |
|---|---|
| 1 – 100 | Free |
| 101 – 500 | 6 |
| 501 – 1,000 | 13 |
| 1,001 – 1,500 | 21 |
| 1,501 – 2,500 | 33 |
| 2,501 – 3,500 | 47 |
| 3,501 – 5,000 | 57 |
| 5,001 – 7,500 | 67 |
| 7,501 – 10,000 | 88 |
| 10,001 – 20,000 | 93 |
| 20,001 – 250,000 | 103 |
This tariff matches Telkom's own printed T-Kash Tariff Guide, effective September 1, 2023.
What This Means for You
- Free below KSh 100. Any send of KSh 100 or less to a registered user doesn't cost anything.
- Capped at KSh 103. Once you're sending more than KSh 20,000, the fee stays flat at KSh 103 all the way up to the KSh 250,000 maximum single-transaction limit. There's no cost advantage to breaking a large transfer into smaller chunks — in fact, doing so usually costs more overall, since you'd re-enter lower, cheaper bands multiple times but pay the per-transaction fee each time.
- Same fee within a band. Sending KSh 1,600 costs exactly the same as sending KSh 2,500, since both fall in the KSh 1,501–2,500 band. If your amount is close to a band's upper edge, there's no penalty in rounding up to use the full band. That also means sending KSh 25,000 costs exactly the same KSh 103 as sending KSh 250,000.
Sending Across Networks: A Note on Direction
This table applies when you initiate the transfer from T-Kash. The fee depends on which wallet the sender is using, not which wallet the money lands in:
- Sending from T-Kash to M-Pesa or Airtel Money: the T-Kash tariff above applies.
- Sending from M-Pesa to a T-Kash user: Safaricom's own M-Pesa tariff applies instead. As of 2026, Safaricom harmonized its cross-network rates, so sending from M-Pesa to a T-Kash or Airtel Money user now costs the same as sending to another M-Pesa user.
If you're trying to work out the cheapest way to move money between two people on different networks, check which platform the sender is transacting from — that's the tariff that applies. For the full breakdown across all three networks, see Sending Money Between M-Pesa, Airtel Money and T-Kash.
